Trip down memory lane

When on trips, I usually try to stay away from 'tourist spots' and their cacophony, instead roaming around is a natural preference. On one of my strolls through the narrow pathways of the hills of Mussoorie, I came across a summer house - the house looked 'modern' enough, but the gate, a showpiece from some erstwhile era stood out with quite some severity. The pillar next to it read "Rani Sahiba of Kalsia" (mind you, reading it wasn't exactly an easy job, with algae and chipping white paint playing chess on it).

I was taken aback by the antiqueness of the engraving. Nothing about the house could make me remember the British India, but this muddled title plate transported me a century back...even the mere remembrance itself was exciting. It gave me sheer joy of some sort of phenomenal discovery and made me realise how we all are still onboard, the ship sailing on the seas of present-past.
